It could be a fuel filter. It gets enough fuel to idle, but not enough fuel to accelerate.

it could either be having a problem with its fuel pump or air flow sensor. davis k cecil, botswana

Without a diagnostic computer it is hard to tell. First make sure all your caps are on tight, oil filler, gas filler, etc. It sounds funny, but the computer could be affected by any loose cap. Second Plugs can make a hugh differents, but depending on how many miles replace the coils. They have to come off anyway to change plugs.Depending where you get the coils from can be al little as $8 each. Make sure you get a reliable brand. Also there are no distributor wires to replace only a timing wire harness you should not have to change unless the engine was damaged some how, then it will take a long time to rerun a neew wiring harness. Good luck.

Could be air intake tube between maf and manifold cracked. It would be pulling in unmetered air and causing lean condition.
