I have a 2001 BMW 325Ci that has a red warning light on showing the trunk is open...even when its closed.

Asked by Markus777 Aug 14, 2017 at 03:22 PM about the 2001 BMW 3 Series 325Ci Convertible RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

If the sensor is not recognizing that the trunk is closed, it prohibits the ability to
open on close the convertible top.  Could this simply be a fuse replacement
issue?  Or will it possibly require an expensive sensor/chip replacement?
Thanks

You are correct...I would look for blown fuse first then test sensor. Maybe it is not getting power?
