Traction Control, Brake and EML lights

Tom Thank you for your response. I sent a note to my local mechanic to see if I can get the codes so that I can post them.

The trifecta of lights is actually always associated with the DSC/ABS module with it either malfunctioning or else a break in communication from one or more of the wheel speed sensors. I got my ABS module fixed by BBA Reman to fix my DCS/ABS/Brake lights trifecta.

This just happened to mine like 3 hours ago. I was driving and those same lights came on.. I recently had to jump start my car with cables. I live in colorado and the weather is really bad, i had never had any problems until now. I have a 2003 325i bmw

I sold the car but before I did a tune up took care of the problem

So mad the first day out of the dealer I got the 3 lights just gonna take it back !!

Guys if you are having battery problems, Replace the battery before asking for trouble shooting questions... The same lights came on after replacing the MAF, I'm going to check everything y'all are suggesting here, but seems to be related to the MAF or can be?

so what is the solution?

My 325i bmw service engine soon light came on right as i start it up i drive for about 30mins stop and get some gas drive for about 10mins after all of a sudden my EML light, DSC light, and the brake light came on and the car started slowing down and when I press on the gas it won't go it was creeping I stop and turn it off and turn back on then the EML, DSC and the brake light came off but the service engine soon light still there.

If your EML Light comes on you need to put transmission fluid in . EML Light is putting your car into LIMP MODE. so you don't burn your transmission pump out If you put a quart in it then you can get to your nearest BMW DEALER, or to napa and fill it back up full is 9 quarts.

I have a 2003 325xi and wanted to make a comment to Beamertech83. I was told by a BMW dealer that the transmission is a sealed unit on this car and should not require any transmission fluid. The dealer is Bergstrom’s in Appleton Wisconsin. Is this correct or not. My EML light comes on occasionally which requires me to stop turn the car off and wait a couple minutes then it will start and no light on.

I had problem after bmw disconnected battery to fix the blower recall fuse. When gave car back said issue with abs will be 5k to fix. I tested the braking and abs was working fine on hard break. Took back to get code reset they said sorry its actually blown fuse 20. Check fuses first.

Hola a todos, compré un 325ci 2004 y lo lleve a lavar del motor y ya no funcionó bien, me prendía luz Eml, tracción y freno... Empeze a checar componentes y encontré al desarmar los modulos electrónicos que están bajo el cofre que estaban llenos de sarro, orocedi a limpiar con mucho cuidado con wd40 y un cepillo de dientes de cerdas medianas para finalizar retirando el exceso de wd40 con un paño de algodón, arme y listo!!! El carro funcionó a la perfección y de apagaron los testigos.

I have a 2002 BMW 325i and those same three lights(eml,traction,brake) pop up after an hour of driving on the road also rough idle at complete stops (only when three lights are on). Changed my Throttle valve, Idle control valve, bought a new battery and changed ignition coils/spark plugs, Still yet my lights come on after about an hour of driving. Gonna change Wheel Speed sensors, MAF and DISA valve but if anyone knows anything that will help email me pls kinosylva@gmail.com

I have a 2003 bmw 325i and I'm having the same trouble as the rest of you guys. If I press too firmly on the gas pedal, my car goes into "limp mode" and I get the same 3 flashing lights (EML, traction control, brake), I get a rough idle, and no response when I press on the gas. Once I shut the car off and then restart it, the lights turn off, but the car will repeat it if I press down on the gas too firmly. I have to press the gas really lightly in order for the car not to shut off. If anyone has a solution, please add it here or send me an email spa.day.inc@gmail.com

Spa day get your alternator checked. Could be spiking voltage when pressing on the gas.

I have a 2008 bmw 328i and when I push the accelerator the traction light comes on and doesn’t deliver power at all..what could that be??

Anyone have a solution I have the same problem with these 3 lights and losing power on the gas, also if I take my foot of the gas when they are on I get a jolt as if its having a hard time. Shut the car off, next day fines then 10mins in same thing all over again. It now comes on every time I drive the car 10mins after I drive. I've replaced the battery they have cleared the codes several times, nothing specific comes up, I've had it tuned up the lights persist, they are driving me crazy, any help appreciated. I fixed it!! But I don't know exactly what fixed it. I replace two worn wheel sensors, cleaned the MAF, cleaned the throttle body. Finally I serviced the transmission since with felt like it would happen on hills more often. After getting new oil and filter in tranny, all good. Hasnt happened in 3 months now.

I seems we all having a similar problem ... if your brake lights comes on and turns orange you need to change brake pads and brake sensors as well (2nd) EML Problems can be a throttle body sensor or airflow meter sensor . i have once seen it happening to my E46.

I have a 2002 325 CI she's a bad bitch turns on Adam I got a run some of the sharpest curves on the freeway at 100 miles an hour she holds that road but all my lights have been on since I bought her used eight months ago. When I took my car in to have the AC looked at the lady there actually explained to me that whoever change the wheels of the brakes did not pay for the BMW wheel sensors because only BMW issues those and it's all those parts are on their replace the computer will not read correctly because it doesn't have that new sensor on there that doesn't mean your car is not operating correctly you just have a few more lights on the dash you know your car knows, enjoy the ride.
