Question type: General

What actually is the sport mode on the BMW 330i Auto Sport?  I have just recently bought one and it has the 'sport' mode which is activated with a shift to the left on the gear lever and it absolutely flies in that mode.  But what actually is it doing? It is amazing!

lee, Good choice mate i have one too and yes flies is one way of putting it! ok the sport mode will pick pick up the rev's and drive in one gear down so as you'll have more power right away where as if your in drive you see it takes a second to kick down one or two gears befor you nail it. hope that explains for you, happy driving ;)

Thank you Matthew, I had a feeling the Sport Mode was doing exactly what you say so that helps explain that for me, thanks again. Lee

Just to add to what Matthew said , the Sport mode holds the gears for longer which keeps up the rpm. I know people find it particularly useful for overtaking as when you engage it it shifts down.
