What are some common vacuum leaks on a 2003 bmw 325xi? Mechanic said I have a bad PCV valve. Is that a vacuum leak?

Beemers are ridiculous with the vacume hoses ect, bur yes he could very well be right, in that more that likely it is the gasket that holds the pcv or (positive crankcase ventilation) the rubber gets degraded due to heat and therefore does not seal, cousing vac leak.
