Rough idle

Asked by Guru53YYL Feb 10, 2018 at 10:04 PM about the 2004 BMW 3 Series 325i Sedan RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Idles rough especially after sitting
overnight. Almost sounds like a back fire
thru air intake. Any suggestions?

Would scan for any pending codes if not done so already. Check for vacuum leaks. Any rubber hoses associated with vacuum lines. Have a look at the condition of your spark plugs and MAF. A dirty MAF can throw off your air/fuel ratio. Other thoughts are checking the fuel pump pressure at the rail. Good luck!
