Rough idle no acceleration

Car cut power when driving and limped to side of Rd, started engine again but it had a rough idle over 1k RPM and no power when pressing accelerator. AA man came and did a throttle idle reset and it worked better than before. 4days later same again yet this time same trick doesn't work when I do it (found it on Google same as him). Any idea what underlying problem could be?
