Limp mode

Asked by Und3rpaidH3ro Jan 10, 2017 at 06:31 PM about the 2005 Cadillac CTS 3.6L RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Ok... So, if i baby the car... No more than 1/4
throttle, everything is fine. However as soon
as i give it any more than that... Passing,
hills, etc. It studders and goes into limp
mode... Also when i crest the top of a hill...
Like when you get that zero G feeling in your
stomach... Instant limp mode

any check engine light? MOST, auto parts and dealers will tell you what the code is so you can trouble shoot from there... try to keep the rig running when the light is on, otherwise the computer will store the active code and it's harder to trouble shoot.

Funny, My caddy 2008, limp mode for 3 weeks. Finally found out the magnets on the wheels had fallen off or broken, so the car could tell how fast it was going, replaced all magnets, $75 each, PERFECT, 3 months later still perfect.
