Question type: Maintenance & Repair

on my 1995 525i bmw the check control reads "code?" and the fuel gauge or
temp gauge is not working. I just installed a new battery. What would cause
this?

I think you have OBD1 so you should get the codes read to know what is going on. Or you can try this ---- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O7FZMso8qio

I did the gas pedal thing but nothing. Control check display reads "code?" and the fuel gauge and temp. gauge is not working. This all happened after I installed a new battery.
