there is a bmw 540i for sale at a car dealership. it has 148,000 miles on it, is that too mant miles? the price of the car is $8,848.

If it's auto they're asking too much, if you can negotiate it down another thousand that's a decent deal. With that many miles service records are a must.

mine has 178k and never has had a problemn it looks and drives like new i think they should cost more than that they are great cars and will last forever

I've had a 2000 540i since it was brought in "new" from Germany with less than 250 miles on it..no holes for a front plate and tuned for Europe specs. It now had 98,000 miles and I wouldn't take under $10,000 for it..just drives faster and faster.
