Why wont my car start

Asked by Guru9DCJ8L Nov 05, 2020 at 07:46 PM about the 2002 BMW 5 Series 530i Sedan RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

We have a 02 530i auto that has been running fine
last night accidentally was backed into a ditch and
the car shut off. We were able to get the car out of
the ditch without the front end hitting anything but
now the car will crank but will not fire. We pulled
the plugs and are getting spark and we can hear
the fuel pump coming on but when we push the
valve under the hood with the key turned there is
no fuel pressure or fuel coming out of it. We
checked under the car dont see any lines busted or
smashed and as I said when key is turned the fuel
pump comes on. Can anyone please give me an
idea of what to check? All fuses were checked as
well all were good through a cheap cel scanner on
the car no codes. any help would be appreciated
as I cant find much online.

How about the lines at the tank? It could be that the tank got pushed up against the floor and pinched the line at the pump

Another possibility is that it put a hole in the tank itself. Glad everyone is ok
