BMW 03 530i shaking

Asked by currensyyy Sep 25, 2017 at 11:46 AM about the 2003 BMW 5 Series 530i Sedan RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Yesterday I had my car in park, just sitting in it, and
it started shaking. So my first reaction was to turn it
off immediately. I turned it back on and it seemed
fine until 30 seconds later, then it continued to
shake. So i hurried home to try and avoid a break
down. My mom needed to borrow my car this
morning, and i told her the problem im having with
my car but she still drove it. Then she tells me when
she gets back, my car is shaking very violently and
now its like its getting no power. She had tried to
make it up a hill and she was afraid she wasnt going
to make it, she even had her foot all the way down
on the pedal.. i dont want to take it somewhere yet
for someone to test it.. ive put so much into this car
and i dont want to get f*ucked over again.

sounds like it could be a motor mount but could also be a that the head is shot and your getting a major misfire

For GuruXXN83 I had the same problem on a 08 535i and it choked every time I accelerated or tried to down shift. In my case it was a broken or torn either way ignition coil and after changing that my car was back to normal
