Should my son purchase a BMW 550i?

My son wants to purchase a 2006 BMW 550i manual with 180,000 miles on it.  
I'm concerned because of the miles but he has all the paperwork and there are
no leaks.  All the gaskets have been replaced and according to the owner he
has done every 5k maintenance. The body on the car looks almost perfect.  
thoughts?  Should he purchase it?

Unless he has a thick wallet, buying any used BMW may not be a good idea.

If he can afford the repair bills he probably could afford a new BMW. Yes really.
