Nope, they are part of a system.

Uhh... no. The turbochargers are necessary for the engine to run, you can't just remove them. If you're not crazy about the cost of replacing them, it comes down to what the car is worth to you. You can fix it, and rest assured you shouldn't have to deal with this problem again, or you can just sell it as-is. You could probably ask $1,000 or so knowing it needs work.
