poor maintenance. its your fault. i have never heard of that problem before
hmm... sounds like the disks might of gotten rusted a bit, this might go away by itself. Or it could be that the pads are worn, and need to be replaced. You can also treat rusted disks.
i have had the same problem, i went and got my rotors lathed. no more squeaks. just try not to let the car sit to long after it rains cuz the rust is what does it and it is very hard to get rid of the squeak without getting them lathed

I had this problem too. It's from baby your car too much. Take it on the high way at high speeds and press the brakes very hard till you come to a stop or at least slowed down. Do this in a safe area. Do this a few times and it will get ride of the built up. No ,ore squeaks.
I actually am not sure if the problems is the brakes but when I stop at a traffic light (a slow normal stop) I hear a "clack clack clack " noise which I also hear when I take off again and it is very subtle clack. I took the car to a BMW dealer and they explained that the noise is because the hydraulic brakes in this model are very big and that noise is normal in the 640I series. I am not sure if this is correct, I am not a mechanic but would like to know if anybody out there with a 640I has the same issue.
