can i put a transmission from a 740 into a 735i bmw ?

can i put a transmission from a 740 into a 735i bmw ? I have a 1992 735i but cant find a transmission for that same car . It's a e32 and I have found some 740s with an e32 but am not sure if the programs will mach . Can any one help ?

Don't know if that will work. 735 is a straight six, 740 is a V8.

You may be able to use one out of a 535i of a similar year (E34). Do a little research. Not sure how active that section is, but look at the E32 section on BImmerfest.com.
