Surging in park

Asked by Christoph3r1979 Jul 17, 2016 at 04:03 AM about the 2004 Cadillac CTS RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Hello I have a 2004 Cadillac cts, seems like once a
week it gives me this problem, it surges in park,
.Before the problem starts it has no power, I mean I
can floor it and it won't get over 30mph. And also I
noticed when this happens the car seems to be
louder, I mean it has a deeper tone hum coming
from the tail pipe...service engine soon pops on
radio, then after 2 days of acting up it's fine...it
runs like a champ...quite and steady. I'm fed up
please help before put bullet holes in it n scrap it.

Have it scanned for DTC codes the computer has all the information stored...Don't change parts until you have this done.

The best thing to do is what Centric suggest but if I were to guess sounds like the catatlic converter or muffler is getting clogged but like I said best to get the codes read like Centric suggested to keep from guessing.
