My cruise control disengages at speeds over 65 mph. Any ideas on what might be causing it? I saw the post about air leak...can someone be more specific?

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Cruise control works fine under 65 mph but disengages over that speed.  Any ideas?

the reason why I'm pointing that out is the MINI cooper has this speed/alarm to prevent you from speeding and am thinking this speed that shuts it off is a variable that you can set...look through the onboard menus~
