Help! Problems with both ABC & SRS lights, plus accelarating shudder. Any suggestions?

Asked by Blanchard Dec 06, 2007 at 11:58 AM about the 2003 Mercedes-Benz S-Class S 55 AMG

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Since purchasing in 05 as certified/pre-owned, it's been in the shop constantly for 3 issues: #1) the "ABC" light comes on intermittently, the "SRS" light is on and #3) at about 50 mph there's a hard shift that starts a shudder which worsens when accelerating.  Among other things, in addition to normal maintenance, for problem #1 the dealer has performed the ABC hose campaign (#97533), replaced the ABC hydraulic line for pressure supply and the replaced rear ABC valve block. For #2 the seat's been removed & reinstalled. For #3 the dealer has replaced the idler pulley, reset & performed shift adaptation.   Is this common with this YR/MAKE/MODEL? Can you help us figure the thing out?
Thx,
D.K. Blanchard  (ps: sorry, forgot to leave my e/mail address earlier: blancharddk@aol.com)
