Hi yeah you don't have a power steering pump being its an electric system. I would take it to an advanced auto and have them check for codes. It's free and might be able to get you going in the right direction. Good luck

I had to jumpstart my 2016 Ford fusion se today and there is no power steering. What is the likely cause of not having power steering?

Same problem. Car wouldn't start. Gave it a jump and the power steering fault came on. Only 32000 miles.

There has been 2 recalls on my Ford Fusion 2012 for the power steering both we’re used. It has failed a third time and because there are no more recalls they would probably insist the 1800 mechanical fix that I’ve read online about Because for some reason Ford doesn’t have the code to fix whatever the electrical error is perhaps? Or depends on who you get to look at your car Either way I wont be spending 70$ for Ford to look at it and give me a quote on it. Had to go in yesterday for another safety recall on the passenger airbag. I may look into doing what Kevin said I think it kicks in after air pressure in a tire gets low or if there needs to be an alignment on the tires but then once the problems fixed it doesn’t recalibrate and turn back on and I’m not paying Ford a dollar to fix it
