2010_2012 Fusion Transmission dipstick
Hi,
On my 2011 fusion, the transmission dipstick is slightly bent I assume because of the dipstick tube. I have 133,000 miles on my unique ride and changed the fluid myself per the shop manual. This means I drained and filled three times to clear the torque converter and all. The fluid level is 2/3 to the max (engine idling) on the dipstick after driving at least twenty miles and doing the gear selection from Park to L.
The temp gauge is centered.
I am happy with the readings. Since transmission fluid expands with heat, I will check again in the warmer months. The engine and transmission preform very well.
Does the bend on the dipstick effect the reading? Is there a certain way to place and remove the DS to get the most accurate reading? I could add a pint to get the reading to max, but I'd rather be safe and not overfill.
