Is there a diagram available to look at for repair ? To Lock from the outside on drivers door you must use the Key. I have the same problem on my ford fusion se not only the key locks the door but for me also the remote works. I will go to the dealership in the next few days to see if they can fix. I also think it is the linkage.

Same thing happened to me. It is the linkage. It cost me 250 for the door lock, handle. If your electric window goes out, it's 354 and change. Good luck.

There is a utube video on a simple disassembly of the door frame, how to check for malfunction, and how to replace worn out parts. If you want dealerto charge you a bunch of money that's on you. Or you can take 1 hour of your time and fix it yourself for 50 bucks! Good luck.

CONTACT The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and report it !!! We had the same issue with our 2011 Ford Fusion and fortunately our daughter was trapped within the car in a safe location, I can't imagine what would have happened had she had an automobile accident and was unable to EXIT the automobile quickly and safely. It is incumbent upon FORD MOTOR COMPANY to repair this defective door handle / latch before someone is killed due to this faulty piece of plastic they have installed inside this make and model !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have a 2010 ford fushion hybrid and since purchasing in june of 2017 I have had no issues other than a tire sensor breaking. However today, i was operating just fine until i got home and was unable to get out. All other doors are fine except for my drivers side. Where do we go to report this with Ford?

THIS IS NOT AN ANSWER. COMPLICATION IS CANNOT LOCK DOOR physically or with the door lock fob that I have. SOMETHING IS JAMMED UP AND BY THE LOOK OF THINGS WITH THE RESPONSES YOU'VE BEEN RECEIVING THIS A FREQUENT PROBLEM AND MAYBE WORTHY OF A RECALL.

Same issue. First the passenger side of the lock won't open with the others, just from inside, now my rear left door is unresponsive for anything. I can't unlock with the key or neither of its handle (not inside nor outside the door just remains locked).

I have the same issue on my 2012 Ford Fusion SE for several months now and simply would roll down window and open from outside. I was gone for a month and my car battery is completely dead. Strange thing is driver door is locked which it hadn’t been doing and my key won’t unlock the door. I can only unlock the trunk. Now I must crawl through with seats down to unlock to pop the hood for a jump.
