CAR DOOR WON'T OPEN FROM INSIDE OR OUTSIDE

Asked by GuruX5LMH Oct 06, 2018 at 10:55 AM about the 2007 Ford Fusion SE

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

The drivers side door on my 2007 ford fusion will
not open from the inside or the outside. Trying to
figure out if there is a way to open it so I can then
take off the door panel and see what's going on. Or,
Is there a way to take off the door panel on a
closed door?

I don't think you can get the door panel off with it closed. Try using a spray lube or graphite lube in the keyhole on the outside of the door and keep trying the key to open it. If the inside handle doesn't open it the handle itself may have broken where the actuator cable connects to it, it's a real weak point. (you can get a new handle assembly from a salvage yard fairly cheap). You won't be able to remove it though until you get the panel off.
