Question type: Maintenance & Repair

my fuel pump humms while giving giving gas at speed of 20-50 mph, i changed the fuel filter and the gas was black and it ran great with a lot more response for about 15 miles and then ran sluggish again and the humming came back, that was 300 miles ago. im going to change the filter again this weekend just to see how it looks and im going to check my pressure also. any idea on what the pressure is supposed to be at idle and what not? it is an 03 Cadillac cts 3.2L or where i might be able to find this information? thanks for your help

are you sure this is comming from the feul pump, you shouldnt hear anything from the pump, only when the car is first truned on.. humming/whinnig while coasting at the speed would indiacte a differentail problem

My car is doing the samething . I changed the fuel filter and it started right up. But when I pulled out the garage and went down the street it cut off and wouldn't start again . I ended up spraying started fluid in the throttle body to start . But need up having to change my spark plugs later on . But I Dont know if Its low fuel pressure or what. When it starts I can run it up and down the highway but when I come to a stop I have to have both feet on the break and gas so it won't embarrass me
