So you did a few repairs on a 7 year old car and you want to sue? How many years do you expect a car to go before needing work?
The repairs were done per service codes #1 #2 there are literally 100s of people with this car and spending 100s of dollars for the same repairs per service codes. So what are you saying we are to sit down and take it that's why this country is the way it is now....corporations selling us crap that doesn't later for thousands of dollars. P.Shelly. Chevrolet doesn't have a clue of what the problem is ...so they say. Thousands of this Chevrolet cars have this problem and they can't figure it out the why sell them . I'm still paying on mine.
What have you done about this problem? I have 4 friends with the same problem. I have replaced my throttle body $120, my exhaust manifold $180, air sensor $180, New Air filter $30. $148 for a diagnostic test at the dealership. NOTHING works, the dealership along with two private mechanics could not diagnose my car! I cant drive it if the temperature is over 89, the car will say engine reduce power, the engine will shake and I cannot drive faster than 15 mph no matter how hard I press the gas! I would like to look into starting a class action law suit against Chevy! I am still paying on this car so I cannot surrender it over to the bank unless I want to screw up my credit.
I had the same problem and spent over $1400 in repairs from the local Chevy dealership then I went to an auto shop next to my job and he found the issue. The mother board under the hood near the driver side of the card was fried causing all of the issues. Michael's Chevrolet was raking in the money while not fixing the actual issue.
I agree! Bought a NEW 2016 fresh off the lot in April 2016, 6 months in, the piston rings broke and shot off into the oil pan, engine was replaced. A year later engine reduced speed issues come to find it's the throttle body,so it was teplaced, 3 months later the catalytic converter had to be replaced. And yesterday it broke down again, won't even start! Not even 3 yrs old and it's been to the shop for major issues a total of 5x! Google and see this has been an ongoing issue since 2011. Ridiculous! No recalls or anything and everyone is having the SAME issue. There needs to be a class Action suit, 30k wasted!!

I have a 2012 Chevy Malibu and about 8 months ago my timing chain broke and bent majority of my valves!! It cost me almost 3k to fix, plus I’ve replace numerous other things along the way, car had given me so many issues, the worst part is even after paying to have it fixed it still runs like shit, my abs light just came on, it’s telling me now to service my traction and throws two new codes as well. I’m over this damn car. What can we do!!
The bottom line is we got ripped off by Chevy... bad wire harness and computer is what I beleave is the problem. I fixed my car. It was the wire going to the 1# fuel injector was broken inside. But now my check engine light is on and it say bank one sensor witch In turn the traction control light also coms on. So I’m going to Chang both bank 1and2 and I’ll let you know what happens. For you who don’t know what bank 1 is it’s an oxygen sensor that is on th upper part of the exhaust Pipe... upper and lower sensor. I’m not going to say it’s going to work but it’s worth a try. These cars were cheaply and badly made. And I have reached out to Chevy and GMC no help from them. I’ll keep trying.

Yes!! Both bank 1 and bank 2 sensors are coding on my car currently as well and I replaced them with OEM sensors so I know their not bad, their brand new. There’s a lot of stuff going on with my car still after all the repairs, I even had a recall fixed for my airbag and the light came back on as soon as I left the dealership. these cars were made horribly and not made to last which is an issue because we’ve paid good money to own them. We need to find out how to start a lawsuit then! So everyone can get involved and get this taken care of.
I have throttle problems with 2016 Malibu Chevy. Where it is dangerous to try to beat a car or exelatate past a car. Who has this class action suit.
@1820Lexis I absolutely agree, there should be one. I have had very similar issues with my 2016 and GM accepts no responsibility, for this crappy car!

I have the exact same problem I brought it back to Galles Chevrolet in Albuquerque three times and they look at me like they're stupid... I've owned this car since it had eight miles on it I know how it drives and it's not driving right. They changed the camshaft sensor and "updated the computer" I just got off the phone with GM. I've had enough I'm ready to start suing their ass off, so if anyone knows who the attorney is who's representing everybody I would please like to join it. My car has 50,000 miles on it and runs like a clunker. I'm not going to stop until I have a new car or until this piece of s*** is fixed.. FOR REAL FIXED kaylajohnsonrealtor@yahoo.com
Mine is a 2009 Chevrolet Malibu, Model, 2.4 Lt. 4 dr. I'm glad that I have discovered so many persons to have the same problems that I am experiencing with my Chevrolet Malibu. It's been going on since March 2020. The engine operates for about 45 mile or 45 minutes and a message pops up on my instrument panel stating Engine Reduced Power. Tracking, ABS, and Check Engine light. Both the Christian Brothers Maintenance Service got stumped with this problem and just 4 days ago Milton Ruben Service garage refused to try to diagnose the car ordering it be returned to me with no charge of diagnostic fee of $79.00 in Augusta, GA. Responding to the DTC codes, I have had the tracking hubs replaced, camshaft sensors front and rear replaced, throttle body with sensor replaced, Electronic Accelerator Paddle replaced, Cleaned the air filter, and changed out the temperature sending unit just for the hell of it. Yesterday I ordered a new ECM. When it arrives and is programmed and installed I will let you all know if it made a difference in the car's performance and Reduced Engine Power. I had always thought I was too smart to let any car get the best of me but this is a first in a many years.I am tired of spending money on new parts told to me by my OBDII testers, scanners, and more and those parts failed to repair the problem. . I will be ready to join a class action law suit if one includes my 2009 Chevrolet Malibu in the litigation. My email is mrhinehart1@aol.com.
