Should I replace this battery?

Question type: Maintenance & Repair
I've had this Legacy for approximately 2 months now. It looked really good under the hood for a while. But after not being under the hood for a while, it's starting to look bad. A lot of oxidation and rust forming. But I should also have addressed a battery issue. I seems to be leaking and I hope it isn't contributing to the way it looks under the hood. Should I just replace the battery? If so, Which one is the best for what I have? Attached, is one of the pictures of my dilemma.

Some corrosion is normal, especially on and around terminals, but that does look excessive. Hopefully it's not being overcharged from a faulty regulator. The best battery IMO is Interstate ...you can get a $60 battery from WalMart but they are crap ..and if/when you do buy a battery clean all the corrosion from everywhere, in tray, all tie-downs, baking soda/water works. Just don't get water in sensitive electronics. I use these things and my battery looks like new, they really work
Looking at that, check your cables on both ends for good connections, The corrosion on the tie-downs almost seems as if it has current flowing through them like they are carrying the ground
I did a little research. Then I just went ahead, bit the bullet and bought an Optima Red Top battery from Advanced Auto. Expensive. apparently don't leak(at least like other batteries) and have a good consumer rating. I'll have to spend a day cleaning up and trying to remedy the corrosion, oxidation and rust beginning to form under the hood. May or may not be related to the battery situation, but hopefully there will be no chance of the battery being able to cause anything, or anything further than what has been started. Any suggestions now on what to clean this all up?
