How can I get some more hp out of my impreza

Asked by bigpun421 Nov 23, 2014 at 02:43 PM about the 2011 Subaru Impreza 2.5i Premium Hatchback

Question type: Car Customization

I have a 2011 Subaru Impreza non-turboed. I want to get some more horsepower out of it
when I drive up to the mountains.  There is no cold air intake that fits my car without
having to make my own pipe for it.

There is not much of anything really. IMO Cold air intakes are a waste of money, . You can go aftermarket turbo or supercharger but are talking $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ a 1 stage turbo is $3,900. Superchargers for positive pressure induction will give you a for-real gain, but those are $5k and not to mention the rest of your drive train will not stand up to that much added power

http://www.xcceleration.com/engine-packages.html ....At that site they offer all sorts of performance stuff, like cams, but do you want to rip apart you engine and spend $1500 to gain 30 HP? Not my figure, theirs ..then your fuel economy goes in the trash to boot

A CAI on the Subie 2.5i is COMPLETELY useless. There just isn't ant air mass volume requirement the engine demands that isn't meant by the OE ductwork. You can remove the intake plastic horn if you want, and think about a K&N to get cute, but you will NOT get past placebo effect. Trust me....

This is true just adding a cold intake and exhaust is not going to give you really any increase in performance. For a fraction of what it would cost to add a turbo or supercharger or going in the motor you can add a CVI unit and you will definitely feel the pick up and acceleration that you’re looking for not like a turbo but a lot better than stock check out our website.
