How can I turbo my N/A 2018 Impreza wagon?
Asked by MyNamesYeff Feb 24, 2019 at 10:38 AM about the 2018 Subaru Impreza 2.0i Premium Hatchback AWD
Question type: Car Customization
I can already hear the comments “Just buy a WRX
and be done with it” but that’s not why I’m here. I
want to know if anyone can ACTUALLY help me
see if there’s a way I could figure this out. I’m not
looking for anything crazy, just wanna give it a little
extra push when looking for cruising on the
freeways. I know it’s a lot of work, but there is no
2018 Impreza with a 2.0 turbo and I want to be the
one who makes it happen, just need a little
guidance from someone a little for experienced.

Check out this site. Looks like they specialize in Subaru turbo kits. They may be able to help. https://www.andysautosport.com/turbo_kits/subaru.html
If you want to spend more than the car is worth, void your warranty and devalue the car all at the same time go ahead!
Nothing wrong with buying a car 10,000 less then the turbocharged version and spending 3,000 to get the same power pal. Reply to F_O_R
You will blow it up smart guy. Then you can sell it for $1,000 to some stupid kid who thinks he will save money on a WRX.

I have the same model car and color love it! With upgraded a cold air intake, ecu chip, and high flow exhaust really wana turbo it but waiting to find out how much boost the engine can handle first
Someone should tell Subaru that you can build a WRX on your own cheaper and better than the factory! Maybe they will pay attention and start selling $20,000 WRX clones.

If they had brought the Subaru Levorg here, this conversation wouldn't even be happening. I'm not sure why they didn't, I'm pretty sure it would have sold in droves.
Hey F_O_R, I am interested in doing what you said. Essentially turning my 2020 impreza hatchback into a Wrx/STI. And everyone I know it costs a bit, but at the end of the day it will be better than the best STI they sale new. I was wondering if we could speak about it?
But seriously I'd like to know how far this little thing can go... i plan to do mine up when its out of warranty... but then again i may just find something older haha

It's been done with my friends. Supercharged it with a max if 40 hp because i dont want to blow out the tranny cvt. Worjs good. It kicks mostly at 2300 up to 4200. Yes i tuned it not to blow anything. The computer wont over rpm 6000 and shift on it own. Spend 3000$ but saved cuz i know poeple.

Forgot to say if it was worth it. Kinda... its not a porshe.... nore a wrx. Gained a second and half for 0 60. Fun but not like my sti 550 hp.
Yooo I just saw a photo of your car on Reddit! The it looks dope man. Did you ever figure this out? I’m looking to turbo my 08 2.5 hatch as well but I’m thinking it’s probably more worth it to just get a car that already has a turbo kit...always trying to save a penny though lmao.
https://avoturbo.com/avo-2018-fb20-bolt-on-turbo-kit/ I got a buddy who has this set up boosting at 5psi and is pushing 292hp you will able to make some decent numbers with this.
@F_O_R You realy a a smart ass the man is just asking a question and it's a valid and and good question how about keep you comments to yourself if you don't have anything helpful to say don't say anything at all and on another point doing mods on a car is nothing new and people do it all the time and if done right can be better then what the company has to offer and cheaper then what they have they have other things there aiming for not making a fast car for cheaper do your research before opening your mouth
I've also been thinking of charging this 2018 Impreza Sport to make it really "my-own," somewhat a daily-sleeper. I've heard the usual sarcastic and helpful comments. I could say that the things to consider the most are the tolerance of the engine and transmission, as well the capability of the breaks. If safety comes first, adjust the breaks, then turbo it - but don't over use so you can use the stock engine and transmission longer. Good luck to us.
