the door locks, trunk, gas cap will not function except manually using the key and the gas cap release in the trunk.  is there a fuse specifically for this ?

There should be. Check the fusebox, find the fuse and replace it. If it pops as soon as you put it in or right after you use the locks/trunk/gas door then you have a short to ground.
