Radiator hose

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2000 deville base. Is there a hose at the bottom of the radiator? I did a
flush and fill and replaced the thermostat. I also drained the coolant from
where the thermostat is.

Yes there is a lower radiator hose. Also there is a petcock on one of the side tanks on the bottom. So you changed out the thermostat? The cooling system is going to need to be purged from the air pockets now.

The lower hose isn't where the thermostat is, is it.

No it wouldn't be. The upper radiator hose runs to the thermostat housing.

Do you have to take the plastic cover underneath to get to it?

Normally no you don't, but it is a tight spot to get at. Usually removing any splash guards gains you good enough access to it.

The covers, yes, I was thinking about the fan shroud you should be able to work around.
