Why drivers window goes down but wont come up?

Asked by Bodyman52 Nov 14, 2016 at 10:08 AM about the 1999 Cadillac DeVille Sedan FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 1999 Cadillac Deville that the drivers window will go down but will not go up. All the other windows work as they should. I can put direct power to the window motor and it will go up. I changed the master switch but got the same results.

Did you check the window relay? The relay for the power windows is the accessory time delay relay. Voltage runs from the power window circuit breaker through this relay to the power window switch

The switch itself also might be it as the mechanisms get worn out you can order on a1 auto for the whole window drivers side switches should do the trick possibly
