Whiring sound behind glove box (2011 Explorer)

When I start my '11 Explorer there's a whiring sound behind the
glove box. Sounds like a small fan.  Sounds like the fan increases
speed as the car accelerates and slows when the car comes to a
stop. The air is working fine.  Just that sound. Any suggestions?

Are the controls set for outside air to be brought into the cabin? Try moving the switches and see if you hear the blend door moving.
