My 2007 Ford F-150 won't start

Asked by markobustos Apr 13, 2015 at 12:31 AM about the 2007 Ford F-150 FX4 SuperCab Short Bed

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

. It ran fine then turned it off to go in the store...came back out and it was like it was dead...wouldn't even crank over...everything came on when I turned the key but nothing...just a click. Brand new battery so I ruled that out of the equation. Got it started after a few hours of messing aimlessly with it...ran fine on Saturday...Sunday ran fine 1/2 the day until I pulled into the driveway at home. Came out an hour later...started it...put it in reverse and it died and now it's wont even crank. Took the new battery to double check and it tested fine. Any idea's?

Sounds like it could possibly be a Neutral Safety Switch which would let you start it if it is all the way out of gear. If it is still in gear , just a little bit, even though the indicator is reading P , that switch may be worn out. Try starting it in N (Neutral) keep your foot on the brake !!! Good Luck...

Also , check connections on Battery , cold be that the starter is on its way out......Bendix Gear in starter or Solenoid on Starter.
