Key stuck in ignition, car stuck in park

Asked by Zach Aug 11, 2016 at 06:11 PM about the 1999 Cadillac Seville STS FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

It is stuck in the off position but I can't take the key
out. Also since the car isn't on I cannot take the car
out of park. Someone please help

Might be able to grab hold of the wheel and turn it left or right to take some of the pressure off the lock cylinder.

check the shift cable to see if it has returned to park.. it should be on top of driver's side transmission top when lookin under the hood. it could bind or break at this point from age.

so my 99 cadillac sls seville key is stuck i ignition Someone said something bout the cable. My key is in the dash next 2 the radio Shifter is in the middle can someone pls help
