Question type: Maintenance & Repair

When the truck is cold the oil pressure is fine and when it warms up it drops because
thats normal with the viscosity levels but it drops like half way between the middle and
Low, and when I accelerate it comes back up to the middle and a little over. Also I got the
oil changed and it was good for a while and then it started doing it again. Any tips?

Drop your oil pan and check the pick up line for the oil pump. a lot of times it will get clogged with carbon, sludge, and pieces of paper from old oil filters. if that's the problem then just clean it out and make sure to clean your oil pan to.

I have a 2017 ram 1500 5.7 hemi. Driving its oil pressure is 57,58. But let it idle in park, for more than 5 min. It drops to 32. And knocking. Hit the gas comes right back up and is fine. Has 14,767 miles on it.
