GPS is woefully outdated on a 2011 Genesis. Can it be updated?

Absolutely it can be updated. http://www8.garmin.com/automotive/lmt/
http://sites.garmin.com/nuvi/ has 2013 all new updates also, I think your dealer wants to sell you a new GPS
"That cant be accurate, can it?" -- yes it can be accurate. The Hyundai is not the only car with outdated navigation maps. There are people on Audi and Lexus forums complaining about outdated maps on factory fresh cars.
TS I think he meant "can't be accurate" about updates being impossible. Sure, you're right on about new cars with either discs or real time outdated from new roads etc. New discs and updated software are available. My Verizon phone give me updates with my plan
talking about the genesis car model, yes outdated already , nothing unusual ,designed long before production date,
And this is EXACTLY why I will NEVER EVER pay for an in-dash Navi System. I honestly can't believe people ante up big $$$ for these things..in most cases, the graphics are horrible, directions provided are half ass. Also, I highly doubt that a Korean car would come with a decent quality GPS to start with. MUCH better off with a stand alone Garmin LMT (Lifetime Maps & Traffic) GPS and pass on the sub-par BS in-dash factory crap.
I have a 2006 lexas suv 400h. The dealer said that I need an update at a cost of $200 or so. I decided not to because I hardly ever go to unknown places. I am not sure if Hunday has any updating. The hand held GPS or many cell phone comes with gps. It is better to use those than updating because you have to update again and again as long as you own the car,
