Jerking during acceleration

Question type: Maintenance & Repair
I have a 2011 Mitsubishi Endeavor. I've been
having problems with jerking when accelerating.
Once I hit around 40 it stops but if I have to stay
under 40 you can feel it like surging the whole
time. Any ideas on what it could be?

See if there are any codes, have it scanned for codes, if there are any it would point you in the direction for repair.
Could be EGR related. Give it a good cleaning (best to start with quick, easy and cheap fixes first). Unfortunately there are too many possible causes to suggest anything else - from clogged cat to fuel pump to torque converter clutch solenoid...
This is what happened with my 2007 Endeavor. It would stumble on acceleration, but it would run almost okay if I feathered the accelerator carefully. If I punched it hard it would stall and almost put me through the windshield. I spent $700+ in diagnostics with shops and even the dealer as a last resort, checking 02 sensors, MAF sensors, fuel pumps, fuel lines, pedal sensors, you name it. The codes indicated a lean condition on two O2 sensors. The dealer's mechanic was adamant, almost insulted when he told me it was a bad intake manifold gasket and I questioned him.:) So i replaced the upper and lower gasket. IT DID NOT SOLVE THE PROBLEM. So I got online and checked several forums and one suggested that things like this are usually electrical and in many cases simple. So one of possible causes was a bad ground connection that causes sensors to react erratically, which was the case with my car. So after all was said and done, I cleaned the battery post connections and the grounding connections to the frame and VIOLA!!! IT RUNS LIKE NEW!!!!

I am glad to of read Warrens problem. Ours is a 2011 I really like it. From 20-40 mph it jerked something awful. Took it to get checked. The gas tank part where you put the pump had a pin hole and we needed new spark plugs plus a gasket was leaking oil into the plugs. We paid OVER $1200 to have it fixed. Got it back on the second day it was worse. Took it back waiting to hear something. It’s been 2 days now. Being on fixed income we don’t make $1200 a month.
