Car shaking when reaching 30 mph

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

When I am reaching 30 mph my 2004 mitsubishi  endeavor
starts to shake, but when I pass 40 mph it stops. If I
accelerate fast it won't shake. Just when I acceleration at a
normal rate. I was told it might be hub bearing, what are
your thoughts...

If the hub bearings, (front wheel bearings) where bad, they would be making a noise, and have play in them. Do you feel the shake in the steering wheel, or the seat? I'm thinking tires more than anything.

I agree. Jack it up, and no NOT put your legs or feet under the car unless it's on jack-stands and secure. Then if there is play, that the wheel will move in or out from the car it could be bearings or hub assembly.

I took it to fire stone and they said the tires were good.they were the ones that said it might be the bearing, they they might have grooves in them. It feels more like the seat shake, the steering wheel doesn't shake when the car shakes. But as soon as I take my foot of the gas it stops. I usually take my foot off the gas as soon as I feel it shake.

Then the problem is in the rear end, Have the bearing checked if you say the tires are good.

Did you ever figure this out? I just purchased a 2004 as well and I'm experiencing the exact same shaking at 30mph and stops when I take my foot off the gas. Help!!

I am driving Mitsubishi Endeavor 2011 and I have exact problem. Will try trans work to see if it will fix the problem. Just curious, has anyone raise this issue to Mitsubishi manufacture, bcz this seems to be a persistent problem with Mitsubishi vehicles

I have a 2006 Mitsubishi endeavor, which I love..just had the transmission replaced and now I have a stutter when going up an incline, if I'm driving under 40mph. This is the only time it happens. Thoughts?

I have the same problem, I own a 2004 endeavor and it sahkes at 30mph and at 50mph too. I have taken it to the mechanic multiple times, even got the trans checked a couple years ago and it kind of got fixed but 3 months later it came back, i remember someone even said it could be the radiator, but nothing has worked. i

I have an Endeavor 2011 with exactly the same problem starts shaking at 30 mph and stops at 40 mph, so based on prior comments I will have the transmission flushed an see what happens.

I have a 2007 Endeavor and I just got new tires put on it. It is doing the shimmy shake thing at around 35 to 45 mph. if I accelerate normally. It just started doing this recently. It stops if I take my foot of the gas or if I give it more gas. If I accelerate fast it does not do it at all. Did anyone ever figure out what the problem was with this. Why it is doing it. I had new back brakes put on not less than a year ago too. Has 202880 miles.
