It needs a good deep charge on trickle. You just giving it the essential jump it needs and or not giving the alternator enough time to give it a good charge. Normally cars need 14 volts to start.
How old is the battery? If you're not sure, look for a date sticker on the battery. It will be numbers or a letter and a number. For example, 3/19 would be March of 2019 and J6 would be September of 2016. If the battery is 4 or more years old, replace it. If it's not, remove it from the vehicle and fully charge it then load test it. If the battery checks out good, make sure the battery cable connections are clean and tight at both ends. Put Vaseline on the battery cable ends that attach to the battery to prevent corrosion. Hope that helps! Jim
Thanks for the help guys, the battery was from 15 and I charged it and did a test and came back battery was bad.
You're welcome. Glad to help! Thank you for letting us know! A battery that is 5 years old has usually seen better days! Jim
I bought a car one time a while back the battery was from 98 and still work like a charm they just don't make things the way they used to
They sure don't! Was that a Delco battery? They're the best, in my opinion. Jim
