My radiator is steaming but Car doesn't overheat 94 fleetwood

Asked by GuruRLJCT Nov 12, 2020 at 06:36 PM about the 1994 Cadillac Fleetwood Sedan RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

This morning I woke and drove as normal when my
steering started to tighten when I turned, and
suddenly the radiator started steaming. I got it
home, not once time overheating.. checked to see,
and saw just steam from the left side of radiator
near reservoir coming up. No bubbling, No Lights
(dash) no leaks that I know of. Or could see. Any
helpful suggestions or insight I'm grateful. Thanks

Check power steering lines near radiator, I'm guessing that there's a hole in a line spraying on the radiator

You may have a pinhole in the radiator that's spraying on the serpentine belt and causing the belt to slip. Check the belt to see if it's wet. The belt drives the power steering pump. If it's slipping you'll lose power steering to at least some degree. Hope that helps! Jim

Another good possibility. I was suspicious of the power steering lines because it sounded like it started happening as he made a turn
