Mass airflow sensor computer reset

I don't think you need to reset the ECU when installing a MAF. If the CEL is on you can reset that with a OBD2 scanner.
When I replaced it, the car did not seem to reconize the replacement. I was told I have to have the "computer" reset. So is that the ECU they are talking about.
I would make sure you have the correct part.
You could disconnect the car battery for a couple of minutes and see if it does any good but you will probably lose codes and settings that you may not want to.

So, I shouldn't have to reset anything to replace MAS??
What exactly is the problem? Does the car drive?
We had the car diagnosed. Mass airflow sensor, ok. I bought a new one put it on, same thing. Put the old on back on after cleaning it out. This corrected the problem for almost a year but the same problem is starting back so I need to get the new one in.
We were told that the parameters needed to be reset once the old one was not correct.
I replaced my mass air flow sensor on my nissan sentra 2011 sr but the check engine light came back on they told I have to reset the sensor
I have a 2009 Nissan Altima and mine would not accelerate neither in reverse or drive. Found a mosquito on the mass airflow
I m asking the same questions for 2010 Nissan Maxima. Bought a new sensor, how do you reset the code and get it off the screen?
