How do I disable the back wiper from coming on in reverse on a mkv1 golf.as I wanthink the put a bike carrier on the car.can anyone help please.

It sounds like your wiper is connected to the back up light. I decided a long time ago that I don't need a rear wiper. I took out the whole assembly and glued a VW emblem over the hole. It's hard to say where this mistake occurred. If you're handy with a tester you can figure it out. If the reverse light comes on when you turn on the rear wiper, then you know the wires are switched. If you just want to disable the wiper, take off the inner panel of the hatch lid. You will see the wires going to the wiper motor. Simply unplug the connector.
