I have 265/70 R17 tires on my jeep. What larger size can I go up to without making modifiations to my jeep?

If that is the stock size you could go up to 285's without problems. Ask a Jeep specialist about larger sizes.

If you trim or remove the front air dam and fender flares, or get aftermarket flares, you can fit up to a 35" tire.
