2011 F-150 low oil pressure warning at idle

Asked by Lauren Apr 19, 2020 at 07:36 PM about the 2011 Ford F-150 FX2 SuperCrew

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Hi,
I have had my 2011 f-150 5.0 for about a year and a
half now. When I first bought it I had to replace the
fuel sensor because it would tell me I have low oil
pressure then stall. It doesn’t stall anymore but now
all it does is tell me I have low oil pressure when I
come to a stop. The rpm’s don’t fluctuate and the
truck runs fine. The oil pressure switch was
replaced, there are no leaks, and the oil level is
perfect. I use 5w30 ford motor craft oil. Does
anyone have a solution to this?

One cause of low oil pressure is using an oil with high viscosity. I believe your engines calls for 5W20, not 5W30. See if it helps next change.
