2011 Mini Cooper S just shuts off

Asked by DorDaddy Jan 28, 2019 at 11:40 AM about the 2011 MINI Cooper S Hatchback

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2011 Mini Cooper S that I took to the shop for starting and they
dying.  They said it was a bad throttle.  Replaced that and then it will run for
15 to 30 minutes and just shut off like somebody pressed the off button.  Let
it sit for 20 minutes and it will start right up but then shut off after 15 to 30
minutes.  They tried everything (sensors, etc) and get to code or anything.  It
only has 71,000 miles on it.  Any ideas as it is a big paperweight at this point.

Have the same issue with my 2011 mini s. The dealer said it could be the junction (fuse) box that is overheating and shuts everything off then when it cools it starts again. $2000 fix from dealer so I'm looking for a cheaper alternative. Any suggestions?
