Right Rear Lights and License Plate Light Fail after 1 Minute?

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have noticed recently that after about 1 minute on having my lights on, the
right rear tail lights and the right side of the license plate lights are off. They are
on when I start the car, but shut off quickly. I do see moisture inside the rear
light assembly in both the red and white sections if that matters. What would
cause them to stop?

1 Answer

Apparently the moisture was caused by a very small crack so that water could get in but could not get out. This caused the breaker to trip and shut down the light. My mechanic drilled a very small hole in the bottom of the light assembly and the problem is now gone. Basically a zero dollar fix because I have an amazingly honest mechanic!
