I have a 2008 chevy cobalt sport, and it's been a great car, but of late...engine light comes on and stays on, when i turn off my ignition, it sounds like the engines wind down then 'off' ...

Have had regular service oil changes, and check everything since purchased in 2009,
engine light comes on, and when I start car it's fine had new ignition switch placed by chevorolet repair at the dealers..but since then, my engine seems to wind down when
turning the igniton key off...does anyone have a clue what this could be...I can't get help from Seaview Chevrolet...

If it's an SS car it could be the turbo winding down.

have the code scanned for the engine light, the "winding down" sound could be a cooling fan
