Have you checked fuel pressure at the regulator? Not running after a fuel up can be a sign you have a bad EVAP system, or tank isn't venting, that may mean a bad vent solenoid, purge solenoid, or vent line. I would also check fuel pressure regulator, you want to check all these before jumping to the fuel pump.
ok thanks you i will try and replace some of these items and see what happens.
This happened to my 2006 Chrysler also. The dealer was aware of an issue with a specific tank. They replaced the gas tank on my car and it worked fine then. George
do you remeber how much it cost you to have it repaired?
I do not. I am not sure if Chrysler didn't already know of the problem and fixed it at no cost to me or not. Sorry I just don't remember. I do remember that it took a good while to effect that repair as the tank is hooked inside the back of the vehicle. They may have had to remove the drive chain, differential and rear axel. Maybe a week without the car. But it did fix the problem.
