Is security light on, does it have an after market alarm system?

If the engine management light is on.one trick which worked a couple of times is to disconnect one lead from the positive ( do not know if it makes any difference between positive or negative). The alarm immeadiately went off and stopped as soon as the cable was reconnected. The car started after that. Then the next day same issue but when disconnecting the lead the alarm did not go off. May be worth a try to get you to a garage. Another fault, which we corrected last week, was the ignition actuator in the cylinder barrel. If you have no resistance from the ignition barrel when turning the key this could be the fault.
