Hopefully, the oil light only comes on at idle after the engine is warmed up. Check the oil level first be verify it is full on the dipstick. You may need a thicker oil. You didn't specify the viscosity (5W30, 10W40, etc.) A thicker oil may be required. You may also try some STP oil treatment. This could help with a high mileage engine.
i believe they used 5w20 that is on the oil drop cover tap from factory also the car uses 85 ethanol gas , the oil stick marks full but is very a very light transparent oil. Thank you for taking the time with these old vietnam vet.GB.
You are welcome, hope it helps. Thank You for your service! I served in the USAF back in the 1990's. Separated in 1998 as a SSgt.
LOVE ALL OUR VETERANS FRIENDS .THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICES. AMEN.
You might need to use convencial oil 5 w 20. After 75 thousand miles dodge uses convencial oil.
They call for 5w 30. You may have a bad oil sending unit.
